Lent is a special season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving in the Catholic Church. It is a 40-day period that starts on Ash Wednesday and leads up to Easter. This year, Ash Wednesday falls on February 14 (a.k.a. Valentine's Day) and Easter Sunday will be celebrated on April 1 (a.k.a. April Fools Day) — which makes it easier for us to remember!
